Configuring text in Internet Explorer
Changing text size
If you would like to change the text size in your browser, simply go to the 'View' menu and select 'Text Size'. You can now choose your preferred size from the options.
Overriding text and colour settings
Go to the 'Tools' menu and select 'Internet Options'. Under the ‘General’ tab, click on the ‘Accessibility’ option. You will now see options that allow you to override the colour, font style and text sizes. Simply select your preferences and click ‘ok’.
Changing the colour of the text and background
Go to the 'Tools' menu and select 'Internet Options'. Under the ‘General’ tab, click on the ‘Colours’ option. Uncheck the ‘Use windows colours’ option. You can now select your preferred text and background colours and click ‘ok’. If you would like maximum contrast, we recommend trying black text on a yellow background.

Changing text size and style
Select ‘Tools’ from the main menu. Choose ‘Options’ and then select ‘Content’. In the ‘Fonts & Colours’ section you can choose your ‘Default font’ and ‘Size’. Go to ‘Advanced’ and uncheck the ‘Allow pages to choose their own fonts instead of my selections above’ option.
Overriding text and colour settings
Select 'View' from the main menu. Choose ‘Page Style’. You can now turn off the font and colour settings.
Changing the colour of the text and background
Select ‘Tools’ from the main menu. Choose ‘Options’ and then select ‘Content’. Within the ‘Fonts & Colours’ section, select ‘Colours’. Now uncheck the ‘Use system colours’ and ‘Allow pages to choose their own colours instead of my selections above’ options.
Configuring text in Safari
Changing text size
Under the ‘View’ menu, select ‘Make Text Bigger’ or ‘Make Text Smaller’. You can also hold down the Command key and press the + or – keys to change the text size.
Changing the text colours/fonts
Unfortunately it is quite difficult to change the colours and font style in Safari. You need to provide your own stylesheet which can be assigned in the Safari preferences.

Changing text size
From the main menu, go to 'View' and select 'Zoom'. You can now choose to magnify the content of the page from 20% to 1000%.
Overriding text and colour settings
From the main menu, go to the 'File' menu and select 'Preferences'. Now select 'Page style'. Within the ‘Author mode’ option, uncheck the ‘Page style sheet’ and ‘Page fonts and colours’ options.
Changing the colour of the text and background
From the main menu, go to the 'File' menu and select 'Preferences'. Now select 'Fonts and colours'. Select the type of text you want to change, e.g. Heading 1 and then click on the ‘Choose’ button. You can now change the style and size of the text.
If you want to change the background colour, go back to the 'Fonts and colours' options, click on the 'Background colour' option and select your preferred colour from the palette that appears. Finally, select 'Page style' and under the 'Author mode' option, uncheck the 'Page style sheet' and 'Page fonts and colours' options.
